About the position

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Hive's Video Optimization team. You will be part of a dynamic team consisting of 4, with team members located in both Stockholm and Berlin.You and the team will work on our product that ensures the success of the Live events of our customers, by increasing the reachability of good quality stream. You will support the setup of Customer networks and by implementing the most efficient distribution of the video content inside customers' networks.

Additionally, you'll collaborate on advancing and innovating our video optimization product. Sounds complex, right?It is!But, this presents an exciting opportunity for learning!

Here's what you'll get to do:

Work on cutting-edge technologies in video streaming and P2P
Work closely with our fortune 500 customers and help define better solutions for their network issues
Help us in shaping our new products

Our current stack: Backend: Nodejs, Scala and Java

Frontend: Typescript/Javascript

Previous Experience

For you to thrive with us and in this role we believe you are/have...

An experienced and versatile Engineer, used to make decisions in technical projects and architecture
Experienced with working with different teams to design new solutions
Finished Bachelor or Master of computer science/engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of nodeJS/JavaScript/Typescript
Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of video streaming protocols, video streaming players, and/or Scala would be a big plus
Great problem-solving skills, team collaboration skills and eagerness to learn

You are preferably based in Berlin, Germany!
