About us The Automation team in the Opearations Development organization drive development towards lean digital factories by delivering sustainable solutions and qualified services within automation and digitalization. We are the trusted partner to all our factories on their journey towards an integrated digital supply chain and we are now looking for an Automation Engineer. Main responsibilities Operations Development is reinforcing the team with an Automation & Robotics specialist. In this role you will be an important member of a central development team with global responsibility. Your task will be development in close cooperation with suppliers, manufacturing units and product development, challenging existing concepts within manufacturing. In this position you will be the driver and architect of smart manufacturing and integrate new technologies in a structured, systematic way and adapt to existing conditions. Main responsibilities include:

• Innovate, develop, verify and implement new equipment, technologies and processes

• Challenge existing technologies and solutions

• Develop and implement tools and methods within automation to improve Alfa Laval Operations

• Initiate, run and participate in internal networks to develop the specialist area

• Participate in networks/projects outside of Alfa Laval to strengthen our capabilities

The position is based in Lund and you will report to an Operations Development Manager. The role may involve travelling up to 30 days per year. Qualifications You have a technical degree within Automation, Electrical engineering or similar and a strong technical background. A good understanding of automation technology, installations and start-up of equipment and at least 10 years of relevant experience from manufacturing industries, with a good understanding of system design, automation technologies and commissioning of equipment.Experience of and knowledge in Rockwell is preferable and/or experience of working with Siemens, Aveva, as well as robotics and AMRs. Experience of machine learning and vision is a plus. We think you have experience within system architecture in the above-mentioned areas. Operations Development's mission is to work with the automation of the future for Alfa Laval.
