CTO (remote)

Hitapps is a GameDev company specializing in Puzzle Games. We have several successful products in both categories with a combined total of over 200M+ downloads, and we are regularly featured in the top charts in the Games section.

Currently, we are seeking a skilled  CTO (Chief Technology Officer)whom we will entrust with leading the technical direction of our studio, building and scaling our development department, and ensuring the successful delivery of our game projects from concept to release.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• Define and execute the company’s technology strategy;

• Oversee game development across all stages: from prototype to release and post-launch support; 

• Lead all technical specialists across all departments/units (the team of ~50 people);

• Build and scale the development team: hiring, mentoring, and growing technical leads;

• Select and implement technologies, game engines and development tools;

• Own project architecture, including client-server components, networking code, and backend;

• Ensure performance, stability, and optimization of games across target platforms;

• Collaborate with other departments to balance technical feasibility with creative vision;

• Manage the technical budget and development resources;

• Evaluate and adopt new technologies (AI/ML in gaming, procedural generation, cloud services, cross-platform development);

• Maintain code quality standards, implement code review practices, CI/CD, and automated testing;

• Manage risks related to technical debt and development timelines.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• 7+ years of experience in game development, including 3+ years in senior technical leadership roles (CTO, Technical Director, Head of Development);

• Proven track record of shipping at least one game project (multiple shipped projects across platforms preferred);

• Deep knowledge of Unity and C#;

• Understanding of multiplayer game architecture, networking technologies, and server infrastructure;

• Experience building and managing development teams of 50+ people;

• Experience optimizing game performance across various platforms;

• Understanding of game monetization models and their technical implementation (F2P, live-ops, IAP);

• Experience with budgeting and technical resource planning;

• Attention to detail and systems-level thinking;

• Strong leadership and communication skills, comfortable operating at the intersection of technology and creativity.
