Tasks

Main tasks are research on molecular mechanisms in the field of inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. In particular, the research will focus on various methods to study the role of mast cells in such diseases. Among other things, the work will include new methods to induce selective apoptosis in mast cells. The work will include culture of primary cells and several techniques to study the effect of different substances on skin mast cells, e.g., fluorescence microscopy, live imaging, flow cytometry, in vivo techniques and various cell biological and biochemical techniques.

Qualification requirements

Doctoral degree in immunology, molecular/cell biology or equivalent, with extensive experience from experimental laboratory work. The work requires documented experience in cell culture, in vivo techniques, as well as experience in various immunological and cell biology techniques such as flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blot, transfections, cell staining and microscopy. Prior experience in skin biology and/or mast cell biology is an advantage. The applicant must have the ability to work independently and be able to collaborate with other members of the group as well as with national and international partners. Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is required. Personal qualities such as flexibility, accuracy and the ability to collaborate are valued.
