Role Summary

Scania’s purpose is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment. It is an exciting journey in which all parts of Scania are involved. For our headquarters in Södertälje, we are now looking for a Group Financial Controller, participating in the Group closings and focus area Fixed assets, someone who wants to contribute to this journey with their expertise while also having the opportunity to continue developing within one of Sweden’s largest manufacturing companies.

The position is located at Scania’s head office in Södertälje.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in Scania group closings and be responsible for tangible and intangible assets together with leased assets both internally within Scania as well as the reporting to the parent company, Traton
  • Analysis of the tangible and intangible assets as well as leased assets in the group reporting & consolidated level at Scania Group
  • Reporting of the purchase price allocation (PPA) to the parent company, Traton
  • Support reporting units when it comes to questions and reporting regarding IFRS 16 and tangible and intangible assets.
  • Take part in the work with Scania Group’s Annual report and specifically for tangible and intangible assets together with leased assets and key ratios
  • Monitor changes in accounting matters related to IFRS 16 and tangible and intangible assets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, participate in projects, and handle ad hoc assignments

Who You Are

Your profile                               

We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics, specializing in accounting. You have a few years experience of group reporting and group accounting.You are used to work with reporting/accounting applications and are an experienced Excel user with interest in IT systems. Since Scania operates in an international environment, it is important that you are able to communicate in both English and Swedish, verbally and in writing.

Personal skills

In the role as Group Financial Controller at Scania, you need strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to solve complex problems. We believe that you are a person who likes structure and is accurate. You are used to working towards goals and driving change projects which means that you have a high delivery capacity. You should have the ability to both work independently and as part of a team. A service-minded and solution-oriented attitude is something we place great value in, therefore you need to have both social and communicative skills in this position.

Group Accounting is a department within Corporate Control, which is responsible for group accounting, consolidation and follow-up of the Scania group. Deliveries from the department include Scania’s Annual report together with reports and analysis of financial performance of the Scania group to Scania’s CFO and executive board as well as reporting to the parent company TRATON. This mission demands qualitative, timely and relevant financial information.
