Field Service Engineer - Electron Microscopy

Field Service Engineer II for electron microscopy systems at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Performs on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of sophisticated analytical instruments serving research and manufacturing sectors. Role includes customer support, technical training, and travel throughout the Nordics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site installation and testing of electron microscopes and analytical systems
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repair visits at customer sites
• Provide technical training to customers and system users on operation and maintenance
• Document service activities through completion and submission of field service reports
• Collaborate with colleagues and application scientists to resolve technical issues and develop solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanics, Materials Science, Biology, or equivalent field experience
• Hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar instruments
• Experience troubleshooting ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems highly desired
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics
• Proficient English; Nordic language knowledge preferred
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50-75% within Nordics and occasionally internationally
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
