Process Engineer - Water Treatment

By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. Process Engineer - Water Treatment

The Global Utilities Solutions team within the H2GS Corporate Tech team is responsible for Power Distribution and Water Systems for the plants in all phases of the projects – initial feasibility studies, design and engineering, operations and maintenance, decommissioning and implementation of new technology.

The Utilities team is expanding on both Power and Water from today, there being three team members with already good diversity. The team is characterised by transparency and openness and relies on big individual freedom and responsibility. The team will increase its growth rate in the second half of 2023 to face the intensified work with the Boden project primarily.

We need to expand our Water Systems team with special competence in cooling systems, especially cooling towers, and industrial water systems in general. The tasks include design concept and engineering review, technical specifications, cost estimates and operations and maintenance support. Work will be in the team but to a large extent also with the H2GS Delivery team and external partners. Reporting is to The Head of Global Utilities Solutions and the work is coordinated by the Water Systems team leader.

Qualifications:

Deep knowledge and experience in various types of cooling systems within steel plant applications such as direct and indirect cooling systems. 

General knowledge about industrial water systems and treatmentsystems is also required. 

A background from the steel industry, relevant equipment suppliers or technical consulting is preferred with at least five years of experience.

Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or similar.
