Senior Gateway Engineer

• Initial Contract duration for 12 months with further extension term for 12 months

• Working Arrangement: Candidates must work from Services Australia s office in one of the nominated capital cities for 5 days per week. (This requirement may be reviewed in the future and some flexible working arrangements may be considered).

About the Role:

SoftLabs is seeking Senior Gateway Engineer for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in ACT QLD SA VIC.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Gateway Engineer uses their indepth knowledge of specific ICT Platforms to provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of those platforms. They work closely with key third party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust gateway infrastructure capability for the business and liaise with architecture and shared services areas to ensure the security of the daytoday technical operations. Senior Gateway Engineers exercise a considerable degree of independence with decisionmaking substantially dependent on their highlevel judgement and consideration of wider agency implications with work being performed under the general guidance of senior staff.

Key duties may include but are not limited to:

• Manage infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand.
• Manage the provision of infrastructure related operational support for hardware software and other assets.
• Manage the prioritisation and escalation of infrastructure issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Communicate the endtoend implications of configuration changes.
• Analyse the quality of requests for change management.
• Provide detailed specialist technical advice including strategic advice to the senior executive where appropriate.
• Proactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert and provide assistance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.
• Assist in the development and implementation of strategies operational policy and procedures and change initiatives.
• Undertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on product suitability for the agency.
• Develop staff capability through coaching mentoring and succession planning.
• Prepare review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation implementation plans test plans and support procedures engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability.
• Attend interagency meetings and forums to influence business outcomes and share information.
• Encourage innovation continuous improvement and manage and support change.
• Influence and contribute to ICT strategy resolving conflicts as needed

Primary Knowledge/Skills/Systems/Tools required for role include:

• F5 * Cisco ACI * Palo Alto Firewalls * Blue Coat Proxy * Infoblox DDI * Email Solutions * VPN Technologies * Routing and Switching Infrastructure * Network Analysis Tools * Cloud Technologies (AWS/Azure/Google).

Essential Criteria:

• A minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in the design management and maintenance of internet gateway and/or largescale data centre networking environment.

Desirable Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 47 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco Data centre technologies like Cisco ACI Cisco Routers nexus switches routing protocols like BGP OSPF EIGRP.
• Demonstrated experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies email and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services.
• Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation.
• Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.
