Section Manager, Assay Characterization

Olink, a Thermo Fisher Scientific division, seeks a Section Manager to lead assay characterization efforts within R&D. The role combines team leadership with technical expertise in protein and antibody characterization, focusing on advancing the Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) platform for biomarker discovery and translational research.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of R&D scientists and engineers
• Plan, prioritize, and oversee section R&D activities aligned with strategic priorities
• Apply protein characterization and PEA assay expertise to guide team technical work
• Drive expansion and improvement of the PEA assay library and resolve assay performance gaps
• Collaborate with technical experts and cross-functional partners on strategic R&D initiatives

Requirements

• Advanced degree plus 6 years experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 8 years experience
• Minimum 2+ years in people management or leadership roles
• Leadership experience in R&D or scientific development with proven ability to lead scientists
• Strong knowledge of protein and antibody characterization using analytical and biophysical methods
• Experience in immunoassay development and characterization
• Demonstrated R&D planning, resource management, and scientific problem-solving capabilities
• Experience with PEA, proteomics, or biomarker assay development is advantageous
