Masters Thesis Student - Oligonucleotide

Cytiva, a Danaher operating company, seeks a master's student to conduct thesis research on solid supports for oligonucleotide synthesis. The project combines organic chemistry lab work with process optimization to develop robust synthesis solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document current oligonucleotide synthesis workflows including solid-phase synthesis and purification
• Generate and evaluate new solid-phase support candidates for oligonucleotide applications
• Design and execute laboratory experiments to optimize reaction conditions
• Apply statistical analysis and multivariate methods for process optimization
• Collaborate across teams and present findings in written and oral formats

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Master's program in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
• Hands-on organic chemistry laboratory experience
• Familiarity with oligonucleotide synthesis equipment (ÄKTA oligo synthesizer, HPLC, LC-MS, or UV spectroscopy)
• Proficiency in English and Swedish
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience with statistical optimization tools such as Design of Experiments
