Position is available at Gothenburg Terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and/or maintain train schedules in TOS.

• Manage train schedule conflicts with Rail/Train operators.

• Assignment of Rail lanes to trains in terminal.

• Plan rail switches and splitting of the train container cars when needed.

• Prepare, plan and monitor the train discharge/load operations and ensure that all related information is correctly updated in the terminal operating system (TOS).

• Ensure that rail operations are planned and running at the level of productivity required by the service agreements.

• Understand rail safety rules and whether intended discharge and load plan meet these safety criteria.

• Prepare the 'rail work plan' daily and communicate to relevant functions

• Maintain ownership of the train under operations and assist dispatchers if planning disturbances occur during train call.

• Report problems and issues, especially issues of complexity or impact on the operation.

• Ensure efficient communication with the rail operators and Shipping Lines.

• Provide all required documents or information to train operator and gets loading plan approval.

• In co-operation with other planning disciplines contribute to setting the overall yard strategy.

We are looking for:

• High school diploma plus a college degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or related field is preferable.

• Previous experience as a yard planner for a container terminal operation or Freight rail planner train or working experience as a dispatcher in a container terminal environment will be an advantage.         

• Knowledge of rail and container operations.

• Knowledge of yard lay-out and operating techniques.

• Knowledge of TOS yard planning and strategic functionality.

• Certificate in hazardous cargo handling.
