Data Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced  Data Engineer to join a leading banking technology team in Stockholm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in  Informatica PowerCenter, IDMC and Snowflake , with proven experience in the  banking or financial services sector . You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and solutions that support critical banking applications, regulatory reporting, and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize  ETL processes and data pipelines using  Informatica PowerCenter/IDMC .
• Work with Snowflake for data warehousing, modeling, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver robust data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with  banking and financial regulations .
• Support  regulatory reporting, risk, and financial analytics through high-quality data engineering solutions.
• Perform  data validation, profiling, and reconciliation across multiple banking systems.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing ETL workflows and database performance.
• Contribute to  UAT of Snowflake implementation within the bank.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in  Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field .
• 4+ years of experience as a  Data Engineer / ETL Developer in the  banking or financial services domain .
• Strong hands-on expertise with  Informatica PowerCenter (ETL)/IDMC .
• Experience with  Snowflake/Teradata (SQL, data warehousing, performance optimization) .
• Solid understanding of  data modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data warehouse design .
• Knowledge of  banking domain data (e.g., customer, transactions, risk, compliance, treasury, credit).
• Proficiency in  SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning techniques .
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in  agile / collaborative environments .

Preferred Skills

• Experience with  cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with  data governance, metadata management, and data lineage tools .
• Exposure to  regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, BCBS 239, IFRS 9).
• Knowledge of additional ETL tools, BI tools, or scripting languages (Python, Shell).
