Senior Service Owner / Business Development Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Service Owner / Business Development Consultant to lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of digital service offerings and service contracts within a global service organization. This role combines strategic business development with hands-on execution to accelerate service innovation, improve connected asset monitoring, and drive the successful rollout of digital connectivity services across global markets.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business strategy, service portfolio management, commercialization, aftermarket services, and digital business models, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Service Contract Strategy & Development
Lead strategic initiatives to develop scalable and market-ready service contract offerings.
Conduct market research and customer analysis to identify new business opportunities.
Understand customer needs, dealer expectations, pricing strategies, and commercial viability.
Define service offerings and customer segmentation strategies.
Develop business plans, business cases, revenue models, profitability analyses, and pricing strategies.
Perform scenario analysis, risk assessments, and impact evaluations.
Define and launch Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to accelerate market adoption.
Develop templates, processes, and guidelines to support service contract implementation.
Connected Services & Operational Processes
Design and improve operational monitoring processes for connected assets.
Establish standardized ways of working across central and regional teams.
Continuously improve monitoring protocols using operational insights and customer feedback.
Collaborate with technical teams to translate operational needs into product improvements.
Drive process optimization and change management initiatives.
Facilitate communication between business, operational, and development teams.
Go-to-Market & Commercialization
Develop and execute Go-to-Market strategies for digital service offerings.
Define launch plans, target markets, customer segments, and commercialization strategies.
Develop compelling value propositions and sales enablement materials.
Support pilot programs and large-scale market rollouts.
Drive customer adoption and identify barriers to successful implementation.
Define KPIs, monitor business performance, and establish continuous improvement processes.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate closely with Product Management, Digital & IT teams, Service organizations, Sales teams, and regional market representatives.
Present business recommendations and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
Balance global business objectives with regional market requirements.
Support organizational change and business transformation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in Business Development, Service Management, Product Management, Strategy Consulting, or Service Portfolio Management.
Proven experience developing business plans, business cases, pricing models, and commercialization strategies.
Strong understanding of digital services, connected products, and data-driven business models.
Experience managing the complete service lifecycle and developing customer-centric service offerings.
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience working within Agile and cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Automotive, Marine, Industrial Equipment, Manufacturing, or Connected Products industries.
Experience in aftermarket services and service contract development.
Knowledge of dealer networks and indirect B2B sales models.
Experience with IoT, connected services, or digital platforms.
Experience driving Go-to-Market initiatives and commercial product launches.
Experience leading business transformation and change management initiatives.
