We are a team of approximately 35 colleagues engaged in education and research on the development of products and production systems, as well as their integration. We are now seeking a doctoral student to strengthen our strategic research program GRACE.
GRACE aims to support the long-term success of the manufacturing industry by addressing the challenges of the green transition. Through integrated and platform-enabled product realisation, GRACE contributes to enhanced competitiveness and sustainability in the manufacturing sector. About the position As a doctoral student in Product and Production Development, you will conduct research within the project COMPASS - Performance indicators and shared understanding supporting sustainable and circular product realisation. - Conducting research such as case studies, literature reviews, and workshops
- Developing and analysing methods, tools, and frameworks related to product and production development
- Contributing to the integration of sustainability into product realisation processes
- Writing and publishing scientific articles and presenting research results
- Collaborating with industry partners and participating in project meetings, workshops, and conferences
- Engaging in interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange
- Full-time employment with 80% dedicated to doctoral education and up to 20% teaching

Requirements To be eligible for the position, the applicant must fulfil the general and specific entry requirements for third-cycle education in Product and Production Development. Education and qualifications:
- A Master's degree (one- or two-year), Master of Science in Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant field such as Product and Production Development, Mechanical Engineering, or a related area
- Alternatively, at least 240 ECTS credits, of which a minimum of 60 ECTS credits are at second-cycle level, or equivalent knowledge
- Knowledge of sustainable product realisation
- Knowledge of product and production development, including relevant methods and processes
- Good ability to communicate in both spoken and written English
- Experience of academic work, for example thesis work or participation in research projects
- Experience of collaboration with industry or working in project-based environments
- Good collaboration skills and ability to work in a team
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks
- Analytical skills and a structured approach to work
