Manager Product & Production Engineering

Do you want to take a leading technical responsibility in the borderland between product development and production?

We are looking for an experienced and technically knowledgeable person for an exciting consulting assignment with an international industrial customer in Helsingborg.

In the role, you will have overall functional responsibility for Product & Production Engineering and lead the technical work in the area. You will have a functionally leading role for a cross-functional engineering team with expertise in electronics, mechanics, firmware, testing and production technology.

You will be an important link between product development and production and together with the team drive issues in areas such as industrialisation, production preparation, product changes, quality and continuous improvement.

About the assignment

As Technical Lead, you are responsible for leading, coordinating and prioritizing the daily work within Product & Production Engineering. You ensure progress and technical quality in the team's work and act as a cohesive force between different technical and business areas.

An important part of the assignment is to ensure that products and production processes work efficiently throughout the product life cycle, from the introduction of new products to changes and improvements to existing products.

Among other things, you will:

• Lead, coordinate and prioritize the work within Product & Production Engineering
• Be the functional leader of the engineers in the field, without formal staff responsibility
• Ensure progress, priorities, and technical quality in the team's work
• Drive and prioritize Engineering Changes and ECN
• Driving Industrialization and New Product Introduction, NPI
• Securing and maintaining product and manufacturing data in SAP and PDM/PLM systems
• Work with modularization and standardization of products and product variants
• Ensure the production and maintenance of assembly and test instructions
• Drive development and improvement of production fixtures, tooling, and End-of-Line testing equipment
• Work with P-FMEA, DFM and Lean-based improvements
• Ensure traceability and quality in production processes
• Drive root cause analyses linked to assembly, testing, quality deviations and field problems
• Evaluate alternative materials and components in the event of, for example, phase-outs, delivery problems, quality issues or cost improvements
• Coordinate technical issues across R&D, production, quality, purchasing, and other relevant functions

Basic qualifications

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has a broad technical understanding and solid experience of product and production technology in the manufacturing industry.

You are used to taking a great deal of personal responsibility and thrive in a role where you combine technical problem solving with functional leadership, prioritization and coordination. You do not need to have formal personnel responsibility, but must be confident in leading others in the daily technical work and creating progress between different functions.

We believe you have:

• A degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least five years of relevant technical experience
• Experience from electronics production or other technically advanced manufacturing
• Experience of industrialization and production of new products
• Experience in leading technical work, projects or cross-functional initiatives
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems and SAP
• Understanding of electrical safety, EMC and ESD
• Experience of structured improvement and quality work
• Knowledge of, for example, P-FMEA, DFM, Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, SPC, 5 Why or 8D
