TECHNIA was originally founded in 1994 by Staffan Hanstorp, Jonas Gejer and Johan Petrini. In December 2004, TECHNIA became part of the Addnode Group (listed at the Nasdaq OMX Nordic List, Small Cap). Since then, TECHNIA has become one of the fastest growing companies in Sweden, with offices all around the globe, working with international brands such as Ericsson, Haglöfs, Mölnlycke Healthcare, Nokia, TUI Nordic and Scania.

In 2015 TECHNIA merged with Transcat, the leading German PLM Company. Transcat had been active since 1984, working with brands such as Porsche, Bosch and Metabo.
